As Americans we work

Doesn't want to know how much time you waste of sitting in traffic each year . Some studies estimate that the Middle urban commuter spends 46 minutes commuting from and for each working day. and that is only the average: lots of drivers – and you can be one of them – spend over an hour to get to and from their jobs every day.

That is rough, especially considering that most of us still don't want to be in our work on any given day.

The Texas Transportation Institute estimates that residents of the United States spend more than 4 billion hours in traffic each year. they also waste more than 2.9 billion litres of gasoline each year while stuck in traffic.

The Institute does not boast studies graphs the number of cuss words which u.s. driver throw off during their average commute. The number, it must be amazing.

Get Out of the car

Doesn't have to be this way. You don't have to fight your way to work every morning. There are many alternatives to the car to get to work.Depending on where you live, the city may be ahead of the game — extracting the image to see where you are.

Some of these are alternatives that you can activate your. others are those that you will have to rely on your employers to Institute.

For example, instead of jumps drive every morning, why not jump on bike instead of yours?Granted, this is not practical for all commuters. But many of us live pretty close to our work to pedal for work. Not only does this save money on gas and help you avoid traffic jam aggravation, which might also help shrink the waistline.

And if you read the newspapers, you know: Americans have some serious problems of finding pants that fit them these days. Some pedal power can help us all squeeze in our jeans.

If you are unable to bike to work, try the train or bus.Yes, the public transport can be a drag.Smell of people. you speak aloud in their phones. they blast their iPod.Some of their clips also their fingernails on long train rides into town.

But you can insert this. It's much better to dodge the construction workers, chasms and drivers who are holders of breakfast sandwich in one hand and other smart phones as surf-rush hour traffic.

Furthermore, by taking the train can be a bargain: you don't have to worry about gas or heavy parking fees when you get to work.

The good news is that some commuters are seeking alternatives. as shown in the infographic connected to this story, 8.7% residents now walk or bike to work., of course, this percentage is diminished the 87.7% that ride to work everyday, but progress is being made.

Businesses should Pitch In

Workers can make all the changes they want, but they don't make much of a dent in the problem of traffic congestion in the nation until employers beginning doing their part.

Employers can do much to reduce congestion. they may encourage employees to work part-or full-time from home offices. After all, the workers not be clogging highways if their commute only requires them to head their stairs living room.

Companies can also establish flexitime starting. Congestion hasn't helped when everyone is racing to reach the Office at 9 am companies that enable employees to head office, sooner or later and then leave their workstations accordingly at the end of the day, are doing their part to make rush hour just slightly less hellish.

What steps are being taken to free up space on highways of our nation? if your answer is "nothing", maybe it's time to dust that moto or pick up a schedule of the train.
